Working with the Department for Transport


The Department for Transport Development Programme, led by the D&I programme, is a work placement scheme specifically targeted towards underrepresented groups.

Upon completion of this course, you will be eligible to undertake a work placement with the DfT and will work alongside team members in the civil service to build on your CV, and interviewing skills, improve on your research, build healthy working relationships and much much more.

You will gain an extensive understanding of the sector through training and shadowing, allowing you to feel more confident applying for civil service roles.

Success Profiles are the new recruitment framework used within the Civil Service.

The Success Profile Framework moves recruitment away from using a purely competency-based system of assessment. It introduces a more flexible framework which assesses candidates against a range of elements using a variety of selection methods.

To enrol, you must have the right to work in the UK, be over 17, currently unemployed and must also be predicted, or already achieved, at least 5 GCSE grades at 4-9, including English Language and Maths.
